Mrs.Bonnick:

I believe that all African Americans should be horned as powerful people that used their voice to make a difference. One African American that I think should be horned is MaryMcleodBethune, the reason why I believe that MaryMcleodBethune should be horned as a great African American is because she made it possible for young African American children to be allowed to have an education.

MaryMcleodBethune

Hello my fellow class mates, I would like you all to meet a very important woman in history. Her name is Mary Mcleod Bethune. She was born on July 10,1875 in Mayesville south Carolina. Let's give a around of applause to Mrs.Mary Mcleod Bethune.

Jessica: Mrs.Bethune, is it true that you were the only child out of your 17 brothers and sisters born free?

Mrs.Bethune:Yes I was the first child in my family who was not born into slavery. The reason why I was not born into slavery is because after the proclamation was signed in 1836 by Abraham Lincoln, it freed millions of slaves including my parents and siblings.

Jessica: So you must had a easy childhood?

Mrs.Bethune: Not really, I did not have a very easy child hood. I had to studied very hard in school and kids were so mean to me.

Jessica:Since both of your parents were slaves, did you feel the need to get into Civil Rights?

Mrs.Bethune:The reason why I wanted to became a civil rights leader was because I felt that everyone should be treated equal. The real peolpe who inspired me was Miss Emma Wilson, my first teacher and my parents. Both my parents and teacher inspired me because my teacher was a living example of what you can achieve when you have education in your life ands my parents were a living example when you have hope and courage in your life.

Jessica: Mrs. Bethune how did you feel that you changed the life of young african americans?

Mrs.Bethune: I felt that I changed the lives of young afican americans because I give them a opportunity of a life time, being able to know how to read and write.

Jessica: What do you think people will remember you for?

think people will remember me for making a school that Black Americans can go to, not just Whites. Also, I think people will remember me for being an important influence on the president and making a difference in Black Americans' lives.

Mrs.Bethune: People will remember me as a black women who made it possbile for young african american childern to be able to go too school and get a education that no one will every take away from the.

Jessica:Sadly, Mrs. Mary McLeod Bethune died on May 18, 1955, of a heart attack. She was buried on the grounds where her school was built. On her gravestone was marked, "Mother." In her will Mary Mcleod Bethune wrote, "I leave you a finally ,responsibility to our young people."

Black History Month

What I think black histoy month is about .

Well I belive black histoy month is a time to reflect on how the past has made it's impact on all of socitey.Black History Month is a time when people remember all African Americans who fought for our freedom and showed us dreams can come true larger or small.

Without the stuggles, dreams, hopes, and strenghs of our past African American mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers, we would not have no future dreams, hopes or stuggles.

Keep Hope Alive!

Rev.Jesse Jackson

  • Malcome X

  • Dr.King

  • Rose Parks

  • Jesse Owens

  • Broker T Washinton

  • Billie Holiday

  • Dorothy Dandrideg

So many other African Americans who made this dream happen.

My love for colors

  • Colors

I love art and putting different kind of Colors in my art . The colors in my art help me express myself and also let people know a little bit about me or how I feel. When I use colors in my art, it helps set the mood on how I want my pictures to look and it also brings out my pictures. Sometime when I use a bright happy color with a dark sad color, it can sometimes be very hard for a person to tell how I feel or what I wanted that person to see in my art. So if you have a hard time expressing your self you should use Colors to Express Your Self !

I have many hobbies that I enjoy, such as reading, movies, and so much more. One hobbie that I enjoy so much is art .With art it's like I am in a different world. It's a word that I created and also controls what happens. When I am doing art it helpes me express my self and helps others see my world throught my eyes when they are looking at my art. Some of the paints and other things that I use can sometimes also tell a person how I felt that day.So you can say art is a way that I express my self and is also one of my hobbies that I enjoy.
